This idea came to me as I reflected on Mark 4:39 from the Bible: “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, 'Peace! Be still!' And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
In contrast to the raging storm and the disciples' fear, I was inspired to paint not the storm, but the absolute stillness and calm that followed Jesus’ sovereignty. This painting remains one of my favourites—a quiet reminder I return to often.
