Abstract painting with typewriter word 'Be' and yellow and green abstract design on a white surface.

Point A to B

Original abstract paintings series with vintage typewritten words. 16 small artworks offering inspiring encouragement through life’s twists and turns.

The story.

It started simply, almost like a divine nudge. I was given an abstract painting prompt: place a point, then another point, and connect them however I feel.

That simple idea sparked a thought. It made me think about life. How each of us has a journey from point a to point b in life, but the path we take, the detours, the stops and starts, are all so different, so unpredictable.

As I painted, another layer came in—words. I finally pursued this idea that I had for some time: typing with a typewriter. I just couldn’t get the vision off my head, of merging the words in my mind with my painting. I let each painting speak a word to me, and I typed them out. The words came in a series of four. Perfectly matching the paintings.

I hope these pieces speak to anyone who needs a little encouragement while moving through their own life’s twists and turns.

P.S.

I can't resist showing you my vintage typewriter that I used for this series (and more to come). I love the creative process, the clickety-clack of the typewriter, the original cut & paste with a blade and glue before the computer era, the slowness, the sheer imperfections of it all. 100% analog. Such pure bliss. I pray that this series brings you as much calmness and encouragement as it does for me. Thank you for supporting my work.
