painting of Penang Second Bridge with curvy road, blue sky and orange cars

Why I painted the Penang Second Bridge

When I returned to Penang, the first sight of the sea while crossing the Penang Bridge always comforted me. With the Penang Second Bridge, I felt it even more. Somehow, it's the wider road, the longer crossing, the subtle S curves of how the bridge was designed, the floating fishing farms that dotted the sea—that soothes. The changing colours of the sky. The clouds, wispy, fluffy, grey, or luminous white. The vastness of it all. I want to hold these feelings. They inspired my paintings of the Penang Second Bridge.
