Hi there, I’m Melinda.

Glad you are here.

I created this space for anyone to rest, find hope, gain perspective and walk toward a joyful life.

As I go through crises in my life that brought me to almost depression—it also brought me to empathy. I noticed everyone has been hurt in life or have hurt someone.

“We are all broken by something. We have all hurt someone and have been hurt. We all share the condition of brokenness even if our brokenness is not equivalent.” – Bryan Stevenson

I remember when I was at the point of non-functioning, lying in bed not wanting to do anything; a friend ordered home delivery—and a surprise lunch appeared at my doorstep.

Act of kindness meal
The first time I cried with gratefulness when we *say grace for the food in front of us. *being grateful and giving thanks to God for His provision for us.

Going through pain alone is lonely.

I texted my friend: “I always thought the hurting are for other people, people without food, shelter, the oppressed, worse off than us; we have so much. But you, God’s beloved princess, reached out to us. I can’t tell you how touched I am. Thank you for showing me the many ways to show love to others. You are awesome.”

We can have all the riches and things of the world—yet without love and kindness, we still can be broken and poor inside.

I’ll always remember how it feels to be shown love at one of the lowest points of my life.
For my feelings to be accepted as they are.
For me to be accepted as I am—broken.

And through love and kindness—how much strength has been given to me to walk forward one step at a time—toward a joyful life.

I know that God loves me and God is Hope. But on that day, it became real—when a friend became a willing channel for God to show His love for me.

It is my prayer that through this site—this space—we’ll find hope. Encouragement. Rest. Faith. Perspective. Healing. Joy! So that, we too, can be that channel of love, hope, and joy for someone.
